Lazy dodger sees returns suffer

It has occurred to me in the last few weeks just how lazy an investor I have become. This can be seen in my failure to sell nCipher last year at 300p, or SOCO International at 1600p. Though these shares, at the time we still undervalued by my calculations, better investment opportunities did exist elsewhere.

This has been painfully demonstrated with Character Group, that toy manufacturer I was first made aware of at 80p when nCipher was 300p. Now nCipher is 240p and Character Group 140p. If I had dedicated more time to properly researching Character and had the discipline to sell nCipher I could be sitting on a very healthy profit now. Instead my portfolio is at a much lower level that it was last, say, September.

Research activities need to be stepped up dramatically. Running this blog should give me the discipline to do research and report it here.

A new resolution has just been made.

The Artful Dodger
